Wrapping paper is such a waste of money. I’m just being honest. I hate buying the stuff.
First you have to pick the wrapping paper out (don’t forget the tape!), then you have to take precious time to wrap the gift (a skill I have never mastered), just to have it torn to shreds in 3 seconds.
So over the years I have resolved to gift bags. And I get a little excited inside when someone else gives me a gift snuggled inside of one. Why? So I can reuse it of course! Hello! If you don’t know me by now, let me introduce myself. I am Liz, the most frugal, painfully practical person you will probably ever come across. I don’t keep or buy anything without it being multi-functional.
So I am proud to say I have come up with a super cute yet very practical gift wrapping idea that only uses what you can find at the DollarTree.
Use reusable tote bags!!! Place your gift inside, stuff it with tissue paper (if you must) and tie the handles together not with a disposable cheap looking bow but a cute scarf (that you also can purchase at the DollarTree) instead!
Genius right? Pinterest eat your heart out! haha
The tote and scarf are like gifts within themselves. The recipient can not only reuse the bag for gift giving but for anything else one may need a bag for.
Anyways, I just thought I would share my new aha moment with you all. Let me know if you have any practical holiday ideas or wrapping paper alternatives?
