Hi everyone! I am so sorry I have been missing for awhile. This year has been full of surprises for sure!
I just wanted to post a quick update. As you can see by the new header, Nerdy Mommy (nerdymommyof4.com) is now Life’s Hand-Me-Downs (lifeshandmedowns.com).
I wanted to redirect and refocus on what this blog is about. The name Nerdy Mommy just seemed a little too much about me and that’s not why I started blogging. I started blogging in order to inspire, learn and connect with others.
When I think about a hand-me-down, the words resourceful, practical, frugal, humble, giving and community come in mind.
A hand-me down doesn’t just have to be clothes or books you receive from someone else. It can also be words of wisdom, a trait, values or common experiences shared between people. One has to be in community or at least communication with someone to know that a hand-me-down will be helpful to them.
So that is why I changed it. In order to accomplish this, here are a few things that also have been changed or will be changed soon.
- Email: I now have an email especially for this blog !! (located on the about page (email me: firstname.lastname@example.org) Please feel free to email me questions, ideas, suggestions or your own story! I would love to hear from you!
- Reorganize: I also plan on reorganizing the posts so they will be easier to find. And weed through the Free Curriculum page…I was a little too zealous about finding free stuff and now it’s crazy!
- New pages: I already have a TeachersPayTeachers store called Hand-Me-Down Homeschool (I only have a few products so far but keep checking back) but I plan in the future to have a shop page where I will have other products that you can purchase to help aid in homeschooling, budgeting, homemaking etc. on this blog. If you haven’t already noticed, I have a brand new page called Side Hustles. This page, just like the Free Homeschool page, can be used as a resource for you to find a side hustle that will fit your needs.
I am super excited about all these new changes and I hope you are too! Please leave a comment or email me at email@example.com and let’s stay in community!
